The Gaia-Now MBSC healing retreat centre is within our home, which is a converted church in the quiet village of Great Barugh.
Great Barugh (pronounced Barf) is a small hamlet located within the Vale of Pickering in North Yorkshire. It lies within 6 miles of the old market towns of Malton, Pickering and Kirbymoorside.
All three still hold traditional markets and Farmer's markets. Pickering is famous for its castle and the North York Moors steam railway which travels up through Heartbeat country.
We have a guest wing which is available for our healing retreats,
workshops and Gaia-Now healing tuition.
Old Church House was built in 1856 and was superbly and sympathetically converted in the mid 1980's.
Many original features are still present. All the rooms enjoy spectacular views across the Vale of Pickering and to the North York Moors. There is adequate off street parking available.
Within the guest wing, there is a twin bedroom, a private bathroom and a second healing room.
The twin bedroom.
As you can see by the picture, we have a recently refurbished the twin bedroom which can be set up as a single, twin or double bedroom.
As far as Gaia-Now MBSC healing retreats are concerned, this ideally needs to be utilised as a single room, because you need to be focused completely upon yourself and open to discuss your inner conflicts.
Having a companion with you can interrupt your progress and distract you from internalising the necessary changes which are required to allow the healing to manifest.
The vaulted ceiling dining room
Main meals are home cooked and served in the original part of the church with its vaulted ceiling, which is now our Dining Room.
Where possible food is locally sourced and organic.
Vivien is an excellent cook and can cater for special dietary requirements.
Please advise when making your booking.
The lounge.
On arrival you can enjoy a welcome tray of tea or coffee and delicious homemade cakes in our delightful lounge beside the wood burning stove.
Some of your healing sessions are received in the lounge, where you can undertake guided meditations and personal development sessions.
This is also usually utilised for the refreshment breaks.
The healing room.
The comfortable and relaxing healing room which is situated next to the lounge, is also used for some of your healing sessions as well as for any hands on sessions that will assist you on your journey of healing and personal discovery.
Castle Howard is nearby as is the historic city of York. The spectacular Yorkshire coastline of Whitby, Scarborough and Filey and James Herriot's Yorkshire Dales are only slightly further afield.
